In the year 1989, The Divine Mother appeared in a dream to a humble devotee
(Sri Kalki) and asked to be worshipped at the present location of Sri
Mahakali Temple in northeast Portland. Since then, during Sunday worship
and various Hindu festivals, hundreds of devotees have visited the temple
in order to receive her blessings for healing, happiness, and spiritual
growth.
Here, Guruji, a Himalayan yogi and world-wide spiritual teacher of
Sanatan Dharma (Eternal Path), serves Divine Mother and teaches devotees
his divine knowledge and experience through yoga, meditation, and Hindu
scriptures.
Guruji is a descendent from the sacred lineage of
Brahmarishi Vashista and the sage Bharadwaj. His father, an enlightened saint,
was the priest of Sri Jagannath (Lord of the Universe) and initiated Guruji
into the path of enlightenment. Sri Kalki has been joined with Mother Kali
since he was a child. From the age of four, he has been taught under many
renowned holy men and spiritual institutions until he received his
enlightenment from the Divine Mother Goddess, Kali, of Dakshineswar, Kolkata.
He was then ordained with the spiritual name Swami Jnanananda. One day, he was
called by Divine Mother to leave civilization and pursue the path of a yogi. He
wandered in the Himalayas for many years and through the grace of Mother Kali
realized the vision of the Supreme Truth. Goddess Kali blessed Guruji to
return to civilization and serve house holders on the spiritual path. In a
special ceremony at Sri Jagannath
Temple, he was blessed to be the extension of Lord Jagannath
(Kalki) and illuminate all minds in the present Dark Age,
Kaliyugam.
For Truth-seekers, he also conducts spiritual
retreats every 2-3 months in a serene retreat center near Portland.
He kindly guides devotees from all religions and nationalities.
